Main Features
VoIP-VQT Applications VoIP-VQT can be used either in laboratory testing or performing diagnostics on existing VoIP networks. Laboratory Tests Used in laboratory conditions to verify the voice quality of the IP equipment under test. Live Network Tests Used in operational conditions in public networks to verify the average voice quality of the network over period of time. To perform voice quality tests in a live network, remote client software is emailed to one or several remote locations (PCs). A reference PESQ file is sent from the VoIP-VQT tester, and is recorded by the remote location’s client applet. The recorded degraded PESQ wave file is then re-transmitted as a data file, via the control channel to the VoIP-VQT for analysis. Similarly, a reference PESQ file is sent by the client applet from the remote location, and the degraded file is recorded by the VoIP-VQT tester. This allows the MOS for each direction to be calculated. Both the degraded files and the MOS score are stored for future reference or processing. All control and synchronisation during testing is performed via dedicated TCP/IP channel.
The user can easily program the number of tests, period between tests and IP addresses of the remote clients. This allows for automated testing which can be scheduled to run at a convenient time (e.g. overnight) and to multiple remote sites simultaneously.
Graphical User interface
