The Voice Snapshot Recorder is a general diagnostic tool for analysing problems on PCM networks. It is used for automatic recording of calls on all channels of the chosen E1 or T1 trunk. It has been successfully used for non-intrusive testing during several network quality audits. Simple connection to associated laptop computer via PCMCIA or Parallel port.

The recorded data is stored on the hard disk of the connected laptop computer as wave-files with a time-stamp and distinctive reference name for subsequent analysis.
The duration of the recording is user-selectable (typically 30 seconds), up to a maximum limit determined by available RAM.

Recording can be set to repeat at regular, specified intervals for a specified number of times (limited only by HDD capacity). Analysis software allows all standard voice quality performance measures (speech levels, noise levels, delay, echo, etc.) to be derived. The analysis is performed semi-automatically.
