The Network Loader allows realistic testing of the effects of DCME or similar network equipment on transmission performance.
It is a test tool capable of generating large numbers of simultaneous calls to load the DCME. Fax calls, modem calls, and emulated voice calls are generated.

When fully equipped, a pool of 30 independent digital fax/modem engines and 32 emulated voice calls have access to 180 duplex channels provided by six Primary Rate CEPT/E1 trunks. The channel interface permits an arbitrary replication of the active channels into many other channels, to achieve any desired loading factor and traffic profile.

Control of the channel assignment and traffic profile is via a user-friendly interface running on the in-built PC-compatible controller or an external computer. The fax/modem engines operate up to V.34 in fax mode, or up to V.90 in data mode. It can be used either in the laboratory or in a real PSTN environment. Two Network Loaders are required for tests in real networks, connected as shown below.
